It has been a cracking year for Hark Solutions celebrating 12 years in the business of providing B2B digital catalogues. In this post we look back over the last year and summarise some of the highlights and achievements for us and our customers.
In 2016 Amer Sports extended their aWorkbook adoption from the initial 3 pilot countries to a massive 26 countries. Three of their key brands Salomom, Atomic and Wilson are now using aWorkbook across North America, Europe and Russia. This geographical expansion could not have been achieved without the drive and ambition from within Amer Sports to grow their business and we are delighted to be working in partnership with them to extend their usage and the capabilities of the aWorkbook app – language options being one of them.
We were delighted to welcome new customers for aWorkbook in 2016 including Speedo, Berghaus, Helly Hansen Workwear, Mizuno Sports and Björn Borg. An existing customer Canterbury in the UK have also introduced aWorkbook to sales teams in Australia and New Zealand.
Tom Cleary, Global Campaign Marketing Manager for Canterbury of New Zealand comments:
“In the two years since we launched our Canterbury aWorkbook in the UK it has helped us to deliver much better service levels to our retail customers through a tailored approach to range presentation and more accurate and efficient order taking. Costs are down on catalogue production and distribution, and the problem of end-of-season wastage is greatly reduced.”
At Sales Conference
Our Project Managers’ have had a busy year travelling here and there and enjoyed being on-site supporting aWorkbook users at Sales Conferences including Speedo, Helly Hansen Workwear, Mizuno and Bjorn Borg. They have delivered workshops to new and existing users explaining how to use aWorkbook to sell more effectively using the tailored presentations, assortment planning and order writing functionality.
Distributor roll out…
Several Distributors are now seeing the benefit to using aWorkbook to sell all their brands together. Combining all products in one digital catalogue with the advantages of cross-brand product assortment and creating orders quickly and easily from the aWorkbook app.
This year we visited numerous tradeshows including ISPO in Munich and OutDoor in Friedrichshafen. It is always great to find out how aWorkbook is being used out in the field as well as meet new brands, distributors and sales teams that can benefit from a digital sales solution.
As a break from selling the benefits of aWorkbook to new customer and top distributor 2pure, we tested out the e-bikes at The Cycle Show in Birmingham, going on a few weeks later to buy a Haibike Hard Seven to commute in to the office – yes its rural Somerset remember. Meanwhile Polly jumped quickly on (and off) the Slack-line at OutDoor.
Big Data Team Building
Our Data Services team has grown as at least half of our customers continue to see the benefits and value we can provide in setting up and preparing the digital catalogue data for you.
To build strong relationships not only with our customers but within the company we took time out in the summer on a team building day at Hestercombe House in Somerset, UK.
Emerging from the development studio here in Somerset’s silicon orchard, the aHub extension of the aWorkbook has begun to deliver new and exciting things. aHub is a distributed and highly scalable cloud platform which supports new features and functions and streamlines the management of product data for use by aWorkbook and other channels. So the aWorkbook with aHub enablement gives you many more options to provide custom catalogue views for all your important groups of users and customers.
“It’s been an exciting time for us seeing the launch of Catalogue views and Distribution groups enabling customers to manage multi-tier relationships between sales reps and customers”.

As we say goodbye to 2016 (what a year) it’s a big thank you to the dedicated hard work of our team here at Hark and all our valued customers using aWorkbook in 2016.
We look forward to seeing you in 2017 which we will start with a trip to the UK actionsport show Slide, this will be a good warm up for the big one at ISPO Munich in February.
